"Without this class, I would never have gotten to the level of self-confidence I now have.  I know that I can improve my skills and apply for employment that I never thought possible.”
~ Janice

“Before this class, I totally botched an interview by not saying the right things.  Now, I have learned the right responses to interview questions.  I can also write an effective cover letter and have a great resume.”

The IUP New Choices/New Options program offers career counseling, job search assistance, and funding for continued education to single parents/displaced homemakers (low income, unemployed or underemployed individuals), and those exploring non-traditional occupations.  Services are offered through eight 60+ hour workshops.  For clients who have completed the core program, continued service is provided in creating resumes, cover letters, and ongoing support services.  Funds are also provided for career and technical tuition assistance, child care support, and transportation.  The New Options program also serves middle school/secondary school students with career counseling.  New Choices/New Options is funded by grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Indiana County Human Services Development Fund, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).  New Choices/New Options works closely with Pennsylvania CareerLink in Armstrong and Indiana Counties, The Indiana County Workshop (ICW), The Indiana County Community Action Program (ICCAP), The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR),
The Indiana County Guidance Center, and The Indiana County Assistance Office.
